Connect What is your favorite thing about being a bartender?

As a bartender of only four years, my favorite part about this experience so far is the ability to learn something new everyday. Since venturing into the the bar industry at 20 years old, I’ve not only grown in my craft, but also in many other aspects of my profession and overall life. I’ve gained insight on a diverse range of methodologies in creative craft cocktails, as well as the importance of character and service.

What is your favorite drink to make and why?

My favorite drink to make is something that I like to refer as a, “Make Me Something”. It’s the back pocket cocktail that ranges for a slew of different palettes. It’s the drink you make when you’re in the presence of an indecisive guest or someone willing to try something new. It not only gives you the freedom of creativity to test your craft, but the best part is the ability to read the people that trust you enough to take them through a new journey of cocktail experience.

What would you do with the $20,000?

Since I was 16, I’ve worked in the same restaurant in the small town of Bordentown City, New Jersey. I’ve willingly dedicated the past eight years to learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business and further expanding my knowledge in the bar business. With the $20,000, I would like to make more of an effort to travel and experience more of the world, especially regarding the diverse world of mixology by applying myself to programs that will benefit my future knowledge in drink making.
