I enjoy making the guests’ visits special and memorable, while impressing them with my creativity, impeccable service, and attention to detail. I want everyone to leave my bar thinking that I have made their day better and that they look forward to their return to our establishment.
What is your favorite drink to make and why?I love to make a drink that surprises the guest, specifically something that you can’t easily recreate at the next bar they visit. I love to make infusions and fat washes with unsuspecting flavors, like savory vegetables. I really love coming up with creative names for the cocktails that include witty puns. I am currently working on a drink special that includes a honey-roasted beet and fresh sage infused bourbon, fat washed with brown butter. I am calling this one “Sage Against The Machine.”
What would you do with the $20,000?I am saving to open my own restaurant and in today’s economy the prize money would be a major help in achieving my goal. More so than the financial help, the recognition I would get from winning Bar Boss and being on the cover of Food & Beverage magazine are what I would need to propel me toward my lifelong dream.
