I am in love with the endless amounts of creativity and freedom of expression behind the bar and within the entire food and beverage industry. I love that I really do “get what I put into” as a career bartender. But most of all, the growth, education, and experience you can achieve through the work as a bartender. Expanding my knowledge on cocktails and spirits, literally acting and performing and constantly adjusting. “Thriving in the chaos” and I am thriving faster than the chaos is coming.
What is your favorite drink to make and why?The Last Word. I live by “A strong cocktail, doesn’t mean a good cocktail”. I love a well balanced drink where I can taste the hero spirit and is being complimented by all the other ingredients combined. Some people still want a “strong” cocktail. So I meet them in the middle and introduce them to The Last Word. It’s a classic, refreshing, herbaceous, and most importantly well balanced cocktail. Also great for introducing to people who haven’t experienced gin before!
What would you do with the $20,000?I am currently molding my career around becoming the master mixologist for Smokey Joe’s “Diamond Crown” Cigar Lounge while making my own little Mobile Bartending entrepreneur dream come true. One of my goals is to be an Accredited USBG Master Mixologist. I would like to use the $20,000 to fund my education, accreditation, and ultimately invest in my own mobile bartending business.
