Learn MoreMy favorite thing about being a bartender is the trust of the office or designation. I'm a service professional that has been entrusted to have and perform knowledge and understanding of what I'm doing. Many people seek the bar for something to drink without a clue of what they want to put in their very own bodies. Guests look to me for an answer with vulnerability. That is precious and delicate to me. This motivates me to know and learn more to be able to introduce variety and pair preferences.
What is your favorite drink to make and why?My favorite drink to make is the classic Long Island Iced Tea. As direct as it is in terms of ingredients, it is a demanding and complicated beverage in respect of taste and smoothness. The more quality (and fresh) the ingredients, the more favorable the Long Island Iced Tea. I enjoy making this drink because, before I prepare it, most guests are used to it being over-powering in alcohol, bland, & not a beverage to be enjoyed, which is quite the contrary. I love their surprise of aha & delight.
What would you do with the $20,000?One thing I'd do is make a charitable contribution to a nonprofit that helps families with children affected by alcohol abuse. Second, I would LOVE to invest in a fantastic Sommeliers program. Third, I'd like to travel & tour to certain restaurants, vineyards, distilleries and breweries across parts of the world. I'd use all methods of transportation: car, train, bus, plane, boat, etc. whichever will best stretch my shiny new penny. That would be a dream! Fourth, I'd work on branding my bar.
