Learn MoreMy favorite thing about being a bartender is the opportunity to curate a unique experience for every person we serve on a given night. Working behind the bar is a show and the best bartenders understand the theatre involved. It is the coolest thing I have done in my life and the only way I have found to be truly expressive. The bar business is all about taking care of people and there is nothing better than connecting over food and drink.
What is your favorite drink to make and why?The Sazerac has been my favorite drink to make since I first learned how to bartend. For me there is no more of an expressive and elegant cocktail. It hits every level of the flavor palate from the nose all the way through the finish. What separated it for me is the ways it can be influenced. There are a few different schools of thought with the Sazerac and many ways to customize it from there. It it is generally complex but the layers it presents gives it more flexibility than most cocktails.
What would you do with the $20,000?With $20,000 I would buy a new car and use the rest of the money for a down payment on a cocktail bar of my own. This is industry is the thing that I feel the most passion for and doing it for the rest of my life is a dream.
