Learn MoreThe sense of community. Not only do I get to make someone a great drink, I also get to be a shoulder cry on, someone to celebrate with, a space where people feel safe. Allowing everyone to have a great time, or deal with life, and not have to worry about anything because I have their backs. It makes me feel like I’m giving back to my community.
What is your favorite drink to make and why? It’s actually a shot. Pineapple upside down. It’s a classic that every type of drinker can enjoy. Whether it’s your first time drinking, or you’ve been drinking your whole life. Light, refreshing, and won’t get you too drunk. Plus, I add two secret ingredients when someone wants one martini style.
What would you do with the $20,000?I’d invest it in myself. I have had a goal of opening a bar for a long time now. My neighborhood has a lot of amazing bars, but they are all very similar to each other. I want to open a space that every type of person can come to, and enjoy themselves. I want to bring my love of Brooklyn dive bars, Chicago’s music scene, and my southern hospitality to my humble home of Pittsburgh.
